I just received my Kickstarter package for "All Quiet on the Martian Front" (AQMF) and have been busy assembling a painting my US steam tanks. Since I live about a mile from the producer of the game, I've also snagged some pro type parts for a clamp and a command tank (upper left and upper center).
The photo shows my tanks after a initial paint but they still need to be stained and detailed but it's a good start.
Overall the plastic tanks went together superbly and are very easy to paint. The three grey ones on the left will be part of a Louisiana State Guard Unit. One of the things I really like about AQMF is there is a lot more artistic freedom in creating units and I'm looking forward to showing a bit more than the usual creativity.
The guys over at WWPD's scifi game site, Outpost Zero are also doing some work on AQMF - their first article is on the Tripods

Looking good! What green did you use? I went with Vallejo's surface primer Russian Green- seems spot on.
What's with the grey ones? urban camo??
aaaaaand I should've read the last paragraph! Cool!
Looking good Miles, cant wait to see them finished.
Every time your post AQMF stuff I regret not being in that Kicksarter even more...
I don"t need another project...

Oh, the new toys are looking great by the way. :-)
I'm really looking forward to see them finished.
Steve - I used Vallejo's "Japanese Uniform" from their Panzer Aces line - sometimes I find the standard olive drab a bit too dark and I was trying for a more bleached effect
Paul - You should jump in as the back story has those damned Martians in Australia too and you Aussies are just barely holding on - reinforcements are desperately needed so it's really your patriotic duty to paint some up
Jason - You do need another project, you do need another project and it's just a few simple clicks away......
Thanks for the comments guys -
Cool looking steam tanks. I also like the Italy campaign thing. Look forward to hearing more about that as well.
Looking good so far. The really are great looking nicely designed miniatures.
cheers
