SAINTS WIN THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!

OK, this post has nothing to do with miniature gaming but it's a big moment for me as I'm a life long season ticket holding Saints fan.  While I live in Maryland, I grew up near New Orleans and have always rooted for the Saints.  I managed to make 3 regular season games and the two playoff games this year but decided not to go to the Super Bowl.

Needles to say, this is a huge win for the the team and the city and I'm very happy.

Wow.

For those of you who aren't into American football, the picture is of the pivotal play of the game, when Terry Porter (with the ball) intercepted a pass from Peyton Manning (who is the Indy player in the lower right corner - cross blocks are a beautiful thing) and ran it back for a touch down towards the end of the game.

Who Dat?, Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?

Congratulations

It was a long time coming for the "Who Dat?" Saints. Good for them and New Orleans too!

I have a a long-suffering brother who is a "dyed-in-the-wool" Saints fan, dating from the Kenny Stabler era with "Bum" Phillips as head coach and Earl Campbell in the backfield. Not forgetting the kicker, Morten Anderson being a huge part of their offense.

When I was a kid, I used to go to the games when Archie Manning played and they were the "Aints". I even have one of the paper bags.

Archie was my football hero growing up.

You have an excellent fan pedigree, respect :)

Archie Manning must be one proud father (regardless of yesterday's errant pass or good defensive pick) looking at the achievements of his two sons who followed in his footsteps.

His loyalties must have been torn inside. Family first but I bet there is a soft corner of his heart for his Saints.
